The Shamballa Letter

VOLUME 16, Number 3                                                                                                      January 21, 1994

Beloved Chelas,

During this past week, as you immersed yourselves in Gratitude, many of you began to discern the pattern of Divine Will behind the manifestations in your life. You began to look anew at the challenges of last year, reaching a deeper understanding of the gifts and blessings bestowed upon you by each experience.

Of course, it is much easier to distinguish the thread of Divine Will, when you look at these events through the lens known as 'time'. You are learning to receive and understand each lesson as preparation for teachings to come. This is helping you to view your daily experiences in a new Light.

As you reviewed the Shamballa Letters for 1993, you may have noticed two primary themes which ran through our teachings. I speak of spiritual discernment and spiritual discipline. Discernment and discipline walk hand in hand, working in unity to manifest the fullness of Divine Mind in the world of form.

Kuthumi defined spiritual discernment as Wisdom, and so it is! As one of the primary attributes of the enfolding radiation of this year, it will continue to be emphasized in our teachings.

Spiritual discipline is a quality necessary to reach at-one-ment with the gifts of each of the seven Spheres of Attainment. You have seen for yourselves that spiritual discipline requires constant vigilance on your part.

It will help you to know that the pull of lethargy becomes weaker with every demonstration of discipline you make! Each time you enter the Silence, write in your Spiritual Journal, or take constructive, creative action of any sort ¾ you increase your momentum of spiritual discipline! This is why we often urge you to 'keep on keeping on', placing one foot in front of the other upon the Path of Light!

As we now enter into the work of the New Year, I encourage you to keep your eyes lifted above the illusions of either discouragement or complacency. The momentum of this year will be one of silent contemplation and inward searching. Through discipline, it will manifest as creative activity on behalf of the planet! I have perfect Faith in your strength, ability, and love. Accept my Faith as your own.

Your Friend, John, the Beloved
