Beloved Ones: 

To receive the designation of "chela" there are certain factors which should be considered. I would like to take this opportunity to elucidate a few... 

The lifestream is engaged in service to life and to the great Brotherhood who should represent not only a real part of your consciousness and life work, but the final authority for the affairs of men. Such an expansion of service requires the development of many latent qualities within the nature, in order to externalize the greatest good in the most harmonious and permanent fashion. 

The application of the lifestream for such release, however, must be a voluntary up reaching from within, and is not accomplished by the offices of the Cosmic Law independent of such application. We might say the 'raw material' is available, but the application and development is always under the direction of the intensive forces alive within the consciousness, and the ultimate result determined by the intensity of application, sustained enthusiasm and a devotion to a principal, a work, or a cause, Karmic restrictions bind the chela chosen for Cosmic work even as they bind the masses, but the bonds are looser and more easily disentangled from the soul when one has been accepted and dedicated to a particular Cosmic mission. The Bridge to Freedom chelas are truly engaged in such a mission. 

Some of the fundamentals which are extremely beneficial to the freeing of the soul from its own karmic bonds when such a one enters into Cosmic service, might be listed as follows... 

Health and vitality of the physical instrument; 

Emotional stability - the capacity to assume responsibility without tension, execute plans without irritability and accept imperfect assistance with tolerant gratitude; 

Mental alertness to tune into and interpret the God Ideas which your Christ Self is waiting to outpicture; 

Etheric purity - morally, emotionally, physically with regard to motive, reward and activity; 

An environment responsive to Spiritual currents as free as possible from annoying disturbances - physical noise, details of mundane nature, erratic lifestreams - all those not in accord with the particular nature of your service; 

An implicit Faith, Confidence, and Obedience to the direction of the Higher Powers thru Directives presented to you thru the avenue of our releases; 

An ever-increasing comprehensive, personal knowledge of current events - commercial, business and national activities so that the use of the Sacred Fire can bring imperfect conditions into Divine Order. 

This may seem like a large order, but many have asked what is required of a chela - and there are many lifestreams who consider themselves to be chelas, when in truth they are primarily interested in their own welfare and individual progress in the Light. 

As we have repeatedly stated, ALL LIFE IS ONE and the chela should bear this Truth in mind at all times.
