Beloved Chelas: 

Let us consider the meaning of ‘duty’ and ‘responsibility’. 

While duty is often considered a synonym for responsibility, there is a variance between the two. When one feels it is his duty to perform a certain service, it is often undertaken because he feels he must do so. 

Responsibility, on the other hand, is more of a bestowed or earned privilege, given an individual in which he may carry out certain instructions, without the necessity of being under the supervision of an individual who is his Superior, at the time the act is performed. 

Thus when we of the Spiritual Hierarchy make the statement that 'it is your responsibility', we infer that you have reached the state of advancement on the Path where we deem you are sufficiently developed along a certain line of endeavor to bring it to fruition without further, or continued reminders to do so. 

In other words, when we say, ‘it is your responsibility’ or ‘you are responsible to the Cosmic Law’ for such and such a mission, it lovingly implies that you have made sufficient progress, through employment of our instructions and advice, to perform the Service to Life which is required. 

I now counsel you to accept the responsibility which is yours in using the Sacred Fire of Purification to bring about the Peace which is so necessary in the personal lives and Governments of the peoples of this Planet.
