The Shamballa Letter

VOLUME 13, Number 20                                                                                                     May 17th, 1991

Beloved Chelas,

In my first letter regarding Healing Petitions, I mentioned various healing requests which are submitted. The question has come up in some of your minds regarding the nature of your healing requests. Also, some of you wondered if there were requests which might be inappropriate for the Healing Chalice.

The Healing Chalice is often used for the more personal requests of the individual, either for healing of yourself, or your family members and friends. This serves quite an important need, which is that of "letting go" of your personal fears and concerns about various problems which you may experience from time to time. It is easy to tell people that they must have faith, and not worry about outcomes, but this is not always easy to accomplish. For our chelas, who are so fortunate as to be working in such direct association with the Masters of Light, it is a lot easier. Still, there is not one among you who does not occasionally experience some difficulty with his level of faith, and his ability to "let go and let God"!

As you write your petitions and place them in the Healing Chalice, you know that you will receive the assistance necessary, and that enables you to release your personal concerns to a great degree. During the Healing Class, you have the added impetus and assistance - not only of the Healing Angels and Masters, but also of your co-servers to accomplish this. The concentration upon this service is beautiful!

Other appropriate petitions for the Healing Chalice include: invoking assistance with relationships; requests for the help of the Masters with upcoming activities for which you desire assistance; help with your group work; and especially assistance for all those people who have great needs, and are unable to help themselves for whatever reasons.

One of the questions which arises is whether it is appropriate to place the names of departed souls into the Healing Chalice. It is our request that, for this purpose, you give the Service for Departed Souls, rather than using the Healing Class. You may, however, place the names of those who grieve into the Healing Chalice.

For any situations involving large groups of persons who are under severe stress of some kind, it is acceptable to place such situations in the Chalice, and give decrees for these situations, as well. However, if such situations seem extremely complicated, requiring long-term assistance, you might give some thought to submitting a petition to the Karmic Board prior to their next meeting, because longer lasting healing efforts may be required. Those are a few of the questions you might consider.

I hope that these suggestions will be helpful to you in formulating your healing petitions.

I AM deeply grateful for your attention to my letters, and for your loving response to that which is asked of you. Your Love for all your brothers and sisters in the Family of Man will heal the Earth, and all life upon it.

I thank you, John, the Beloved
