Beloved Chelas: 

We have just entered the season which the Orthodox world calls Lent and all chelas should take advantage of the momentum which is referred to as "the remission of sins" through self-denial. The denial of the little self can be accomplished by surrender of the lower consciousness to the Christ within.

The Orthodox world, for the most part, thinks it is a time of depriving themselves of something which gives them particular pleasure... entertainment, food and so on. In the case of the chela, it should be the denial of the little self from having its own way; a preparatory period of purification in honor of the Christ - not of the beloved Jesus as an individual but the Cosmic Christ, the Christus dwelling within the hearts of all men.

To be a true advocate of the Teachings of the Spiritual Hierarchy, the chela should make this surrender a daily exercise all through the year. However, some find it easier to do so when the attention is upon the great exemplar - the Master Jesus. I counsel you to employ whatever means will direct your attention to and keep it upon the Christ within, especially when mankind's attention is turning to the miracle of the Resurrection.

The purpose of the Spiritual Hierarchy serving specifically with the Planet Earth is to point out ways and means of attaining the Christ Estate for every individualized lifestream. Naturally the chelas are nearer to that goal than is the average man who does not have the benefit of conscious communication with the Ascended Host.

Year after year we have directed your attention to the various activities of the Sacred Fire through which you could purify your lower garments and overcome the tendencies of the outer self which have gathered a momentum through the centuries. In this year, when the beloved Micah the Master Jesus has accepted the responsibility of the enfolding Spirit of the Year, there is a greater outpouring of his Light as a result of the attention of the chelas upon his service. You have an unprecedented opportunity with his constant outpouring of the Flame of Unity to the Earth and her evolutions to consciously tune into and attain the Unity of Purpose, the blending, or submission, of the lower vehicles with the Christ Self which is dwelling within your hearts.

You are well aware of the meaning of the Resurrection of the purified lower self into the Cosmic Consciousness and I have reiterated the foregoing facts in an endeavor to impregnate your consciousness, particularly your feeling worlds, with the Estate which you must, and shall, attain!

Forty days is the time set by the Orthodox world for the atonement of sins, but I admonish you to include Sundays, not taking a day off, so to speak, particularly when you realize that the First Ray's outpouring is greatly energized on that day - God's Will for you and for all men is the attaining and sustaining of the Christ Consciousness.

I suggest you invoke the beloved Jesus to give you his Feeling of the Love, the Happiness and Ecstasy of dwelling within that Realm at all times.
