Beloved Ones: 

The effort to raise the individual consciousness and sustain it in the Ascended Master Consciousness seems a superhuman task when the lifestream has belonged so long to the realm of human thinking and feeling. The mental decision to abandon the human thought does not suffice because the inner bodies, which are such strong contributory factors to the individual's consciousness, must be trained into the Ascended Masters Radiation by the self-conscious effort of the lifestream. 

To raise one's feeling nature into the Ascended Masters Consciousness is a simple enough task for the spiritually developed chelas, but to sustain that feeling nature in the Ascended Masters Consciousness becomes an almost impossible activity until the feeling-nature itself is completely purified of the qualities that register human nature - just as the airplane can only be sustained in the air while the motor is in motion, because the elements that make up the airplane are not as fine as the ethers through which they ride and must settle back upon the Earth where the vibratory action of the Earth's substance is similar to the material of the plane. So does the aspiring feeling-nature when the motivating power of aspiration or devotion ceases by reason of the pull of daily activities, returning again to the vibratory action corresponding to the atoms and cells that make up the qualities within the feeling world. It is in like manner true of the mental body, the etheric or the physical. 

When the tremendous motor set into action through contemplation ceases to revolve, although the exhilaration of union with the Ascended Master Consciousness is experienced, it is not sustained until those bodies in themselves have earned the right to dwell within that realm of Eternal Perfection and function from there in the fourth or third dimensional planes. 

This explains why so many very fine and highly evolved people can experience great ecstasy and illumination, but find that in their daily contact it is difficult to sustain that exhilaration and Godly nature. If you take these bodies like children and train them into the nature of the Gods in all their dealings, the coarser atoms of the lower nature will be dissolved and there will be built into the bodies the refined atoms of the perfected nature of the Ascended Master Realm, and when this is done the lifestream will proceed on an even course and there will be no separation between the inner and outer activities, and the exhilaration and ecstasy of contemplation will become the radiation of hourly living.
