Message from the President

My beloved friends and co-servers,

Depending upon what part of this blessed planet you live upon, now that spring has sprung or the fall harvest has begun, I would like to continue working with the Seven Divine Virtues. Let us begin with the divine quality of enthusiasm since in the many activities of both the spring and fall a great deal of enthusiasm is created. Winter is over and the temperatures are rising, once again awakening all elemental life or the high heat of the summer is waning and it is much more comfortable to be outside and enjoy the great outdoors.

As I began to consider this wonderful gift I first had to ask myself what makes this blessing divine. I began looking for the answers to my question in my own my life. I looked back to my years in school and remembered that during a football or basketball game everyone present seemed to be very enthusiastic, especially when our team was winning. Then I thought about when I got an idea to design something beautiful in glass and I felt really enthusiastic throughout the creative process until the project was completed and the piece found a new home. Watching my children and grandchildren grow I observed how most things in their lives they did with tremendous enthusiasm!

Enthusiasm (from the Greek, “filled with God”) is an ongoing energy supply tapped into the flow of life itself. I realized that what makes the virtue of enthusiasm divine is the energy with which it is activated and sustained, and the level of consciousness and focus of one’s attention. In other words, where your attention is there you are! It’s that simple! Take for example the two powerful statements: The Light of God never fails! and The Light of God is eternally victorious! They both basically say the same thing but to me, one has much more gusto and zeal than the other. The Light of God is eternally victorious is a much more positive or enthusiastic statement. Looking at the definition of this magnificent quality it is very difficult to be less than positive so even at its essence it is divine.

As we begin this new year of The Bridge to Spiritual Freedom Journals we look to the future with great enthusiasm. With all that has been accomplished over the past several years it is now time to consider what format this important publication should take. We would like to hear from you with your ideas. What is the purpose of this publication? What would you would like to see included in or removed from our magazine? Remember, in the divine order of life all things must and will evolve. I eagerly await your suggestions and input.
